Himachal Pradesh (HP) ITI Admission 2023: Application Form, Eligibility, Dates

The Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board (HPTSB) annually invites the applicants for admission in various engineering and non-engineering trades offered by the Industrial Training Institute (ITIs) located in the state. Candidates can apply for Himachal Pradesh (HP) ITI admission 2023 by filling the online application form. Before that, they must make sure that they fulfill the requirements laid down by the authority. Admission to different government and private ITIs will be done strictly as per the merit obtained by the candidates in class 10th or its equivalent. Through Himachal Pradesh (HP) ITI admission 2023, candidates can enroll in the different trades such as welder, mechanic, draughtsman, cosmetologist, assistant, secretarial practice, plumber, tool and die maker etc.

Himachal Pradesh (HP) ITI admission 2023-Application form

Candidates need to visit the official website of the Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board to fill the online application form for ITI admission in HP. They will be asked to select the course they wish to seek admission in. Once the course is decided by the candidates, they’ll be redirected to the application form. Only one application form per applicant will be considered valid. The particulars in the form must be entered very carefully as no correction window will be provided to the candidates once the form is submitted successfully.

Candidates should keep the relevant documents along with the scanned signature and photograph handy. The application form will include the details such as name, gender, category, address, academic details, payment information etc. Candidates should review their application before making the final submission of the form. They will receive a temporary id and login id. The temporary id should be used to make the application fee payment. Candidates need not send the hardcopy of the filled-in form to the authority.

Application fee: General category candidates need to pay Rs. 350/- as the application fee. However, those from the SC/ST/OBC category need to pay Rs. 250/-. The application fee can be paid through net banking or through E-Challan. The fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

Eligibility criteria for Himachal Pradesh (HP) ITI admission 2023

The eligibility criteria for different trades (engineering and non-engineering) are provided below-

Age criteria: Candidates should not be less than 14 years old as on 1st August 2023. No upper age limit applicable for admission in ITIs situated in Himachal Pradesh.

Educational qualification for engineering trades

  • Draughtsman: Candidates should have passed Matric examination with science and mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Electrician: A pass in class 10th under 10+2 system of education with science as one of the subjects or its equivalent is required.
  • Electronics mechanic: Candidates should have passed Matric with science and mathematics from a recognized board.
  • Machinist: A pass in class 10th exam under 10+2 system of education or its equivalent is required.
  • Mechanic (motor vehicle): Candidates should have qualified class 10th exam with science as one of the subjects from a recognized board.
  • Mechanic (Refrigeration and Air conditioner): A pass in Matric with science and mathematics as compulsory subjects is required.
  • Painter general: Candidates should have passed class 10th or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Tool and die maker: A pass in class 10th exam with science as one of the subjects is required.
  • Turner: Applicants should have completed class 10th under 10+2 system of education from a recognized board or its equivalent.
  • Wireman: A pass in class 10th examination is required for this trade.
  • Carpenter: Candidates should have passed class 10th with science as one of the subjects from a recognized board or its equivalent.
  • Welder: Candidates should have passed class 10th examination or its equivalent from a recognized board.

Educational qualification for non-engineering trades

  • Computer operator and programming assistant: Candidates should have passed class 10th examination or its equivalent under 10+2 system of education from a recognized board.
  • Food production: Applicants should have qualified in class 10th exam from a recognized board.
  • Front office assistant: A pass in class 10th or its equivalent exam with English as a compulsory subject is required.
  • Basic cosmetology: Candidates should have passed class 10th from a recognized board or its equivalent.
  • Fruit and vegetable processor: Passed in class 10th with science as one of the subject from a recognized board.

Admission Procedure and Counselling

  • Himachal Pradesh (HP) ITI admission 2023 will be done strictly on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying exam i.e. class 10th or equivalent.
  • The authority will prepare a merit list of the candidates based on their class 10th
  • Selected candidates will then need to register for the counselling process.
  • In the counselling session, candidates need to specify the course and ITI they wish to get enrolled in.
  • After the completion of the counselling process, a seat will be allotted to the candidates as per their merit rank.
  • Candidates need to report to the allotted ITI and pay the necessary admission fee.
  • On successful submission of the admission fee, they are required to keep the “acknowledgement receipt/admission receipt” safe for future references.
